Clear the Clutter!

NEVER underestimate the power of a clean, simple work space! Visual clutter can lead to cognitive disorganization and impaired executive functioning, while a clean visual field can improve cognitive and emotional functioning and improve efficiency.
Take a minute to clear the visual field of everything but the essentials and see the difference it makes in your ability to get started (EF=activation/initiation), maintain attention (EF=focus), and keep working (EF=effort).
A clean desk also reduces anxiety since it is less visually chaotic (EF=modulating emotions). Try it and let me know how it worked!
